Many rave about the scallop risotto, declaring it as a must-try, while the fish pie with its rich filling is a beloved favorite. The wine selection, particularly the Chez Deaneo Sauvignon Blanc, frequently complements the seafood offerings perfectly, enhancing the dining experience. While Deanes Love Fish has gained acclaim, some patrons mention minor points of contention. A few diners have noted that during peak hours, service can slow down despite staff being friendly and eager to help. Others felt that some dishes, while beautifully presented, could benefit from bolder flavors to enhance their experience. Occasionally, some seafood items may run out due to high demand, which can be frustrating. Prices, while generally reasonable for the quality, might be considered slightly high for those looking for budget dining options. Despite these issues, the overall dining experience remains positive, with customers often enthusiastic about returning.
Calling in to Deanes Love Fish in Belfast, to try out the new lunchtime menu, was a delightful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Perched at a window seat to watch the world go by, the informal but stylish dining space is fresh and bright with hints of the seaside in the decor, perfectly mirroring the menu which champions the finest of local seafood and shellfish. We started with a carafe of zingy Chez Deaneo Sauvignon Blanc, crisp, fruity, and perfect to pair with fish. The snack of Crispy whitebait with curried mayo, and the Crab on Toast starter with celeriac, confit onion, and Granny Smith apple were both excellent appetisers. To follow, the generously portioned Fish Pie was crammed with local seafood, topped with a cheddar glazed mash, and served with buttered greens, and the dish of Scampi, arranged beautifully on the plate, was accompanied by chips, tartar sauce, house salad and a spritz of lemon. Deanes Love Fish; excellent quality, an affordable menu, gorgeous presentation, and delicious dishes.
Another fantastic meal at Mr Deanes. Great service and very nice wine. Can't wait to return
Very nice foods, my one is risotto scallop, it’s super delicious
We couldn't fault anything. Service, staff and food was so amazing. The experience was so lovely. We'll be back again.
A really enjoyable brasserie experience. You could go for a light snack or three course meal. Food is not fussy but executed with precision, with real attention to detail, and leaves you with a smile of satisfaction.
Excellent food and service, staff were exceptional. No faults
Superb. Michael Deane was on site on Saturday night chatting to customers and generally being seen, but his staff do a great job, service is fast and efficient, well informed with good knowledge of the items on the menu, and everything was delicious, cooked and presented to perfection. Not cheap, but not expensive for the quality either!

I recommend dining during lunchtime to take advantage of their special offers, especially for dishes like the fish pie or seafood risotto that shine in the midday light.
